Relay — first NYU cohort
A campus swap where half an hour of your time gets you half an hour of someone else's. No money, no catch.
Built from 300+ student interviews at NYU.
How it works
Not dollars, not points, not a subscription. Just thirty minutes between two people who each have something to share.
Teach for half an hour, earn a credit, spend it on any lesson you want. That's the whole thing.
Share something you already know how to do.
Your balance updates after the session wraps.
Use that credit on a lesson from someone else.
The first run
The first Relay group is about twenty NYU students, invited by hand, trading creative skills. Joining the interest list doesn't guarantee a spot — we're looking for a balanced group where everyone can both teach and learn. We'll let you know either way.
Real answers
Nope. Joining is free and no money moves between students. You pay with your time, period.
Simple. Teach one thirty-minute session, you get one credit. Spend that credit to book a thirty-minute session with anyone else on the platform.
For this first round, creative stuff only: design, music, writing, photography, things like that. Nothing medical, dangerous, or sketchy.
About twenty NYU students, picked by hand, each with a real school email. We're not opening the floodgates yet.
No. Everyone on the list gets reviewed. We pick a group that makes sense — matching up what people can teach with what people want to learn. You'll hear from us either way.
First NYU cohort
Open the short form and we'll be in touch when the cohort is locked in.
Joining the list doesn't guarantee a place. We'll only use your answers for the Relay trial. Relay is student-built and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NYU.
